Levonia Coutee Rachal (John D. Coutee) born on January 1, 1929, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on April 10th, 2022, at the age of 93 in her home. She was a native to Cloutierville, Louisiana. Levonia enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She spent most of her time in the kitchen making her famous delicious meat pies and hot tamales with her loved ones while passing down family trades and secrets. She loved attending local zydeco dances and church events with her loved ones and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Almatine Rachal, and daughter Barbara Coutee Bayonne (John Wayne Bayonne, Sr.). She is survived by her three daughters Celeste Coutee Raggio (James Raggio Sr.) of Natchitoches, Louisiana; Katherine Byone (Roger Byone) of Cloutierville, Louisiana; Sharon Roland (Murrell Roland) of Des Moines, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 21 great great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial for Levonia Coutee will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with Rev. Christian Ogbonna serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 am until 10:30 am at St. John the Baptist with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 10:30 am. Following burial services, a repast will be held at St. John the Baptist Church Hall.
