Louise Ann Sklar

A mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Louise Ann Sklar will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, September, 6 at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Louis Sklar serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 8:00 pm Monday September 5th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:30 pm Monday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Sklar, 88, a resident of Powhatan, passed away September 2, 2022. She was born June 8, 1934 in Houston, TX to Louis and Lena Weaver. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, a son, and her husband Adolph Sklar Jr. Ann was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Powhatan, La. She was also a long-time member of Natchitoches Service League. Ann loved the outdoors from working in her yard to working cattle. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by sons Terry Sklar and wife Lanelle and Rodney Sklar; granddaughter Laura Bain and Josh Cotton, as well as a great granddaughter Emma Bain and numerous nieces and nephews. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Junior Free, Chuck Garrett, Ronnie Walters, Billy Dowden, Joe Raybon, and Latcho Alvizo. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Shirley Raggio, Ms. Linda Taylor, Ms. Diane LaCour and Mrs. Loretha McDuffy for the loving care they provided Ms. Ann.
