Funeral services for Mrs. Lynette Cole will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beulah Methodist Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time on Monday the 17th at Blanchard-St. Denis. Dorothy Lynette Scott Cole, 68 years of age and a resident of Greenwood, La, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022 at 4:17 am with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late Cecil Scott and late Dorothy Reeves Scott on January 20, 1953 in Hearne, TX. Lynette worked as a Pharmacy Tech for 10 years before entering the public school system. She worked many jobs while in the education system which included secretary, teacher’s aide, and was certified to work with severely handicapped students and autistic students. Her last job was a reading interventionalist for 9 years at Many Jr. High. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 39 years, Lotice “Coach” Cole; daughter, Shanna Guy of Port Neches, TX; son, Bill Hawthorne and wife Jen of Greenwood, LA; Cammie Arbuckle of Stonewall, LA, and Ginny Hebert and husband James of Mauriceville, TX; sister, Sharon LaPaglia and husband Joe of Bryan, TX; sister-in-law, Karen Scott of Gainesville, TX. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Jace Tarver, Alyssa Clark and husband Bubba, Bre Morgan, Cole Arbuckle, Ashlyn Thibodeaux, Kyler Hebert, Reece Hebert, Ricky Guy, and Wade Guy; and 4 great grandchildren, Trent, Ellie, Mattie, and Millie as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Dorothy Scott; and a brother, David Scott. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Michael LaPaglia, Garrett LaPaglia, Derek Allen, Bubba Clark, James Hebert, Joey Watts, and Jeff Talley.
