M. E. "Reb" Allen

A service to honor the life of Mr. Merwyn E. “Reb” Allen, Sr. will be at 11 am Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Coldwater Baptist Church in Hagewood, LA with Bro. Tim Leach officiating.  Burial will follow at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time at Coldwater Baptist Church. Reb, 73 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018.  He was born on September 21, 1944 to Cleon and Julia Laverne Bellue Allen in McComb, MS.  Reb was a hard worker his entire life and a great provider for his family.  A true family man, he always placed the needs of his family ahead of his own.  He enjoyed fellowship with his church family at Coldwater Baptist Church, where he has been a long-time member.  His faith and love for his Lord, gives us peace knowing we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day.  He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Laverne Allen. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Outlaw Allen; his children, Merwyn E. Allen, Jr. of Cheneyville, LA,  Michael Allen of Cheneyville, LA, and Amanda Fogle of Montgomery, LA; and a sister, Dianne Jackson of Kentwood, LA.  He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jonathon Allen, Jared Allen, Eddie Jones, Bradley Jones, Will Allen, and Francisco Rico.
