It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Mark Edward Fox, following a long illness. Mark passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early morning of Friday, April 17, 2020. Mark was a graduate student working on a Masters Degree in Sports Administration at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Mark was also working as a graduate assistant in the NSU Sports Information Department. One of Mark’s passions was working with and loving animals. Since 2015, Mark was very active with the Natchitoches Humane Society and we know that he will be missed. His energy and passion to this cause helped hundreds of dogs and cats find forever homes. We are sure that he is now being licked and snuggled by countless dogs and cats as he too has crossed over the Rescue Rainbow Bridge. This will make Mark very happy, as he was never happier than when cuddling with a critter! Mark is survived by his parents, Michael and Denise Fox of Killeen, TX and his brother, CPT (Army) Aaron Fox, of Fairbanks, AK. Mark proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the second Gulf War. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Natchitoches Humane Society, P.O. Box 7405, Natchitoches, Louisiana 71457 or by visiting https://natchitocheshumanesociety.rescuegroups.org/. The family will coordinate with NHS and the NSU Athletic Department to hold a memorial on Mark’s behalf as soon as we are able to do so following the relaxing of current COVID-19 restrictions. More information will be provided via Facebook and other media once we know more regarding the memorial.
