Marshall Martin Hearne, III

A graveside service to honor the life of Marshall Martin Hearne, III will be at 2 pm Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Highland Park Cemetery near Sicily Island, LA.  The family will receive friends from 3 pm until 6 pm on Friday, February 7th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Marshall, 75 years of age and a resident of Creston, LA, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020.  He was born on December 3, 1944, to Marshall Hearne, Jr. and Gertrude Miriam Smith Hearne in Orange, TX.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Marshall was a graduate of Deweyville High School in Deweyville, TX and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts from Northwestern State University.  He taught industrial arts in the Natchitoches Parish School System and retired with 23 years of service.  An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors with family and friends.  Marshall enjoyed traveling to the western United States and especially spending time in the Rocky Mountains.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Donna McElhatten Hearne of Creston; a daughter, Kellie Chisum and her husband John of Sicily Island; grandchildren, John Aubrey Chisum and Chloe Marie Chisum both of Sicily Island; and a sister, Sandra Poston and her husband David of Natchitoches.
