Marvin Bombek, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on June 29, 2024 at his residence near Flora, LA at the age of 91. Marvin was born on September 9, 1932, in Port Acres, TX, to John Bombek and Anna Machac Bombek. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ann Dautrive and brothers Frank Bombek and John A Bombek.
Marvin proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss near El Paso, Texas. It was there that he met and married Carrol Edmunds. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Marvin had a successful career with Gulf Oil located in Port Arthur, TX. He retired after many years of service as a heavy equipment operator and ultimately as Mechanic Supervisor.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Carrol Edmunds Bombek, and their son, Steven Bombek and his wife Nikki; granddaughter Aurora Rich; sister Lillie Champeaux; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service to honor Marvin's life will be held on Saturday July 6, 2024, at 10:00 am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Following the service, Marvin will be laid to rest at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Friday, July 5th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
