Mary Ann Conant Wigely

On Monday, March 10, 2025, the Angel from above came to claim the life of our loved one after a brief illness.

Mary Ann Conant Wigely was a wonderful, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord and showed it in her daily walk with faithfulness and devout Christianity. She was always there when we were having a bad day to make anyone one of us laugh or cry, but most importantly to be the rock we leaned on. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grands.

Mary Ann Conant Wigely was born on December 13, 1941 to John and Viola Conant in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Martin; and a grandson, Randy Wigely.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 65 years, Alfred Wigely, Jr.; children: Bridget Metoyer (Silton, Jr.) and Alfred Wigely, III (Denise); grandchildren: Silton III (Miranda), Zachary (Hayley), Alonzo (Katie), and Austin (Cara); great-grandchildren, Tristen, Androux, Rylee, Addison, Aurora, and Baby Tyler (due August 2025); her siblings: Cecilia Conant, Linda Conant, and Gerald Conant (Jeanette); as well as a host of nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Catholic Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church located at 911 5th Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Zachary Metoyer, Alonzo Middleton, Silton Metoyer, III, Austin Wigely, Shannon Roque, and Ron Helaire. Tristen Metoyer will be honored to serve as her cross bearer.
