Matthew Paul Chauvin

Matthew Paul Chauvin, age 50, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Annunziata Catholic Church on Saturday, June 5, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until a Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Matthew is survived by his daughters, Brianna Chauvin Rhodes and husband, Aaron, and Chyna Rell Chauvin; granddaughter, Persephone Iris “Percy” Rhodes; parents, Donald Joseph and Betty Louise Houck Chauvin; brother, Mark D. Chauvin; sisters, Michel Chauvin-Hertzog and husband, Richard, Monique E. Chauvin, and Melissa F. Chauvin and companion, Justin Wing; companion, Ladana Deshotels; His beloved dog Noah.

Matt had a great passion and zest for life. He loved surfing, shooting guns, hunting, fishing, boating, playing the guitar and singing, being with his family and friends, loved flying small aircraft, and most of all being on any body of water. Matt was the kindest, most generous man and loved by all. He literally gave the shoes off his feet and shirt off his back to anyone in need.  He was genuine, authentic, and the most easy going person. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
