A celebration of life service for Matthew Scott Sesvold, Sr. will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Freedom Life Church in Natchitoches, LA with Bro. Michael Sesvold and Bro. Brian Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Branch Cemetery in Pitkin, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday the 27th at Freedom Life Church. Matthew Scott Sesvold, Sr., 31 years of age and a resident of Pitkin, LA, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. He was born on March 31, 1987, in Bedford, TX to Jerry F. Sesvold and Therisa McCullough Sesvold. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Nancy McCullough Phillips, and Sharon Mary Chalmers. Matthew was a hard worker and was proud of the work he accomplished as a boilermaker. He proudly served the City of Natchitoches for seven years as a City Police Officer. He was a loving husband and an excellent father. He was a compassionate man with a huge heart who would help anyone in need, even if it meant he had to sacrifice his own needs. He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and listening to any and all music as loud as he possibly could, the louder the better! Always a warm smile on his face, he’s been said to have never met a stranger and always joking and carrying on. His love for life shined through in his smile. It is known that “Matthew Sesvold has the best Dad Jokes ever!” He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Jerry and Therisa of Pitkin, LA; his wife, Megan Ballard Sesvold, daughter, Maybri Elisa Sesvold; son, Matthew Scott Sesvold, Jr. all of Pitkin; his sister, Krista Sesvold Cholvitee, her husband Schuyler and their child, Easton; brothers, Michael Sesvold, his wife Ashley and their children, Drake and Mackenzie, and Marcus Sesvold, his wife Taylor and their child, Presley, all of Natchitoches; his grandparents, Victor Larry and Mary McCullough as well as a host of in-laws and many loving friends and family. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Justin Clifton, Jeremiah Barkley, Dexter Humphrey, Nick Mobley, Blake Johnson, Jonathan Roberts, Justin McDonald, and Andrew Onellion. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Sesvold, Schuyler Cholvitee, Matthew Scott Sesvold Jr., Easton Cholvitee, and Drake Sesvold. Memorial donations in Matthew’s name may be made to Freedom Life Church in Natchitoches to help the family with offsetting the sudden funeral expenses.
