Funeral service for Maurice Jackson will be at 2 pm on Monday, April 15, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Sandifer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Beulah Methodist Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 11 am until 2 pm on Monday the 15th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Maurice Leon Jackson, 72 years of age and a resident of Zwolle, passed away on April 10, 2019. He was born on August 18, 1946, to Maurice and Naomi Ainsworth Jackson in Shreveport, LA. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1968. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Maurice never met a stranger and made countless friends through the duck lodge and guided fishing tours. He had a smile that would light up any room. Although he possessed a great passion for the outdoors, his greatest love on this earth was his family. He adored spending time with his son and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Jackson and Naomi Porter Keyser, and a brother, Edward “Bubba” Deen. He is survived by his son, George Jackson and his wife Lauren of Natchitoches and their children, Hayden and Carter, the mother of his son and close friend, Anita Perkins and former wife, who remained a close friend, Chione Jackson; an aunt who was like a second mother, Jenny Ainsworth; a cousin who was more like a sister, Peggy Lamkin; and a nephew, Scott Deen; as well as many friends.
