A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mercie Dee LaCour Honore' will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with Rev. Christian Ogbonna serving as celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA.  The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 9 pm on Friday, June 28, 2019, with a Holy Rosary at 7 pm in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mercie Dee Honore’ was born on December 22, 1946 to the late Raymond and Bernice LaCour in the Cloutierville Community. On February 12, 1966 she married the absolute love of her life, James Jerome Honore’ and to this union 3 sons were born. Mercie Dee was a devoted wife of 40 years and the most loving mother a child could ever have. During her 36 years in Michigan, Mercie Dee was committed to raising and providing for her family.  She worked in the service and retail industry where she developed long-lasting friendships that endured until her final day.  She loved to go on outings to the zoo, barbecue at the park, or just go for a walk.  Mercie Dee loved to crochet and cherished her dolls, plants, and flowers, and her home reflected it.  In 2002, Mercie Dee and Jerome returned to their roots on Cane River to enjoy family and friends.  She was strong in her faith and served as a member of St. John’s Altar Society, choir, and bingo committee.  She also served as an associate with the Congregation of Sisters of Divine Providence in San Antonio, Texas. Upon losing Jerome in 2006, accompanied along with numerous health setbacks, Mercie Dee continued to push forward, never quit, and persevere through all her challenges.  In 2017, she found her way back to Michigan to be close to her grandchildren.  On June 17, 2019, the Lord took Mercie Dee home to be with Jerome. Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, James Jerome Honore’, Jr. of Seabrook, Tx, Mitchell Honore’ and wife Carrie of Ann Arbor, MI, and Christopher Honore’ and wife Nicole of Clinton Township, MI; her 6 grandchildren, Jared, Kylie, Luc, Cole, Grant, and Rhys; two sisters, Delores Eli of Natchitoches, LA and  Shela Byone and husband Johnny of Cloutierville; three brothers, Joseph Severin and wife Agatha of Chicago, IL, Raymond LaCour, Jr and wife Lydia of Houston, TX, and Allen LaCour and wife Marsha of Cloutierville, LA; an uncle, Earl LaCour and wife Amelia of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law- Roman Honore’ and wife Annie Ruth of Southfield, MI; 2 sisters-in-law Margie Honore’ of Alexandria, LA and Norma Honore’ of Natchitoches, LA; her dearest friend Nazy LaCour; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
