Mike LaCaze

November 15, 1977 — July 29, 2024

Natchitoches

On July 29, 2024, the world lost a beloved soul with the passing of Michael James LaCaze, known affectionately as Mike to his family and friends. He was born on November 15, 1977, in Natchitoches, where he also passed away with his loving family by his side.

Mike dedicated over a decade of his life serving the City of Natchitoches as a lineman. However, it was during the Christmas season that his true passion shone through. He played a crucial role in bringing the spirit to Natchitoches with dazzling Christmas lights, spreading joy and cheer throughout the community.

Described as a dedicated son, husband, and father, Mike's endearing qualities were evident in the way he treated everyone around him. His strong work ethic earned him admiration not just from his co-workers but also from his family and friends who held him in high esteem.

Outside of work, Mike's adventurous spirit led him to various hobbies and interests. An avid scuba diver, he found solace beneath the waves. He was also a true Louisiana country boy at heart, finding joy in hunting and fishing in the great outdoors.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Renee Perkins LaCaze; his loving mother Charlotte DeLacerda LaCaze; his proud father Billy Lane "Joe" LaCaze; his children William and Kelsey LaCaze; his dear sisters Mandy LaCaze (Curtis) and Kim Crowder (Joe); as well as nieces and nephews Brenden, Justin, Dusty, and Alyssa. In addition to his immediate family, Mike is also mourned by extended friends whom he had embraced as family: Kylar, Josh, Dalton, Grace-Lynn, Jay, Taelyn, Tenley, Cooper, Alyza and Collin.

He was preceded in death by his dear friend Amy Tynes and an uncle Robert LaCaze.

A visitation will be held on August 2nd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at Cypress Baptist Church. This will be an opportunity for all who knew and loved Mike to come together to honor his memory and celebrate the impact he had on each of their lives.

Michael James LaCaze may have left this world too soon, but his spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those who knew him best. May he rest in peace.
