Mike, 62 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in Shreveport, LA. He was born on March 30, 1957, to K.T. Phillips and Lula Belle Knotts Phillips in Natchitoches, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Yvonne Johnson Phillips. Mike was the definition of a Louisiana sportsman; he enjoyed spending time outdoors especially deer hunting. A farmer and cattle rancher by trade; he devoted over 20 years to cultivating his farm in Natchitoches. He could be labeled as a professional “tinkerer” and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He was a free spirit and enjoyed riding his Harley with family and friends. Although his time with us was brief, he definitely made an impact on us all and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sharon Durham; children, Kiley Tim Phillips, III and wife Ashlie Phillips, and Laura Phillips-Walker and husband Brad Walker; sisters, Linda James and husband Danny James, Dolores Cole and husband Dr. Philip Cole, and Rose Halbrook; grandchildren, Brock Keith, Carson Phillips, Riley Keith, Allen Walker, Ellie Walker, and K.K. Phillips; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
