Mike A. Solice, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully in his hometown of Robeline, Louisiana, on August 26, 2024, at the age of 76, surrounded by the ones he loved dearly in this world.
Born on February 25, 1948, in Robeline, Mike lived a life marked by dedication and service. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam in 1968-69. His military service was a testament to his commitment to his country and reflected the strong values he held throughout his life.
Mike's career as a truck driver spanned many years, during which he became an exceptional provider for his family. His work allowed him to support his loved ones while also cultivating lasting relationships with those he met on the road. His reliability and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew him.
For over 52 years, Mike was devoted to his wife, Martha Beason Solice. Together, they built a life enriched with love and mutual respect. Mike was the cherished father of Mike Solice, Jr. and Matthew Solice. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Tristan Solice, Taylor Solice, and Logan Rachal, who brought great joy into his life. Mike is also survived by his sisters, Ann Moran, Betty Freeman, and Dottie Bolton, as well as a nephew, Chad Moran, whom he loved like a son. The family also includes numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Preceding Mike in death were his parents, John Solice and Aline Hawthorne Solice.
A memorial service to honor his life will be announced at a future date.
