Funeral services for Nelson Eugene St. Andry, 80 of Natchitoches will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. T.J. Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12 noon until time of service at the church.
Nelson Eugene St. Andry, beloved husband, father and Papaw, passed away December 25, 2024. He was lovingly called, Papaw, Daddy, Dad, and Pops.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ladelle, of Natchitoches, Louisiana; His children: Timothy and Robin St. Andry of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Rachel and Scott Brannan of Missouri City, Texas, Carla and David Clemmens of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Christi Dyes of Natchitoches, Louisiana
He was lovingly called Papaw by several grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. He has many nephews and cousins that are sure to miss him as well.
Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Nelson St. Andry, Sr. as well as his sisters Nellie, Helen, and Sybil.
He served in both the Navy and the Army. He would often entertain family and friends with tales of his time served in both branches.
A long career in sheet metal and HVAC was a job he loved. He was also a jack of all trades and often was called to fix things for family and friends on request.
Family was important to Nelson. He traveled many miles with his wife to see his children as well as many grand and great grandchildren. He traveled to Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Texas. He has been to the beaches, mountains, Disney World, and even went on his first cruise a couple of years ago. He lived a full life.
Retirement came and Nelson enjoyed hunting, working in his shed, tending to his yard, and watching westerns. He will be missed.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren William St. Andry, Stacy Davenport, Jr, Brandon Jordan, Jackson Brannan, Spencer Brannan, and Jeremy Lowe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Chellette, Bill Chellette, and Ronnie Smith.
