Oma Schelette Solice

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Oma Schelette Solice will be at 10 am Thursday, February 13, 2020, at The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Natchitoches.  Burial will follow at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Visitation will begin again on the 13th from 8 am until 9:30 am at Blanchard-St. Denis. Oma, 90 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020.  She was born on April 6, 1929, to Willie Schelette and Mabel Page Schelette in Flora, LA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Horace Solice; and a brother, Ervin Schelette.  She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Dr. Campbell in Natchitoches.  She was a member and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church as well as being a parishioner of St. Anne’s at Old River.  She was a loving sister and will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her siblings, Helen Newsom, Eunive Trahan and Joe Schelette.
