Funeral service for Mr. Oscar Delrie, Jr. will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Saturday September 18th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Oscar, 83 years of age and a long-time resident of Flora, LA, passed away September 11, 2021 in Bossier City, LA. He was born on January 24, 1938 to Oscar and Mary Vascocu Garza in Gorum, LA. Oscar served many years as a superintendent for the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury and ultimately retired as an enforcement officer with the police jury. He also was a volunteer civil service police officer for Natchitoches. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Dowden Delrie; sons, Thomas Delrie, Michael Delrie and Robert Delrie; a daughter, Martha Delrie Ford; grandchildren, Dusten Delrie, Deidre Delrie, Amanda Delrie, Joshua Delrie, Abigail Delrie LeBlanc, Catherine Bosch, Joseph Mahfouz, Sarah Mahfouz, and Jennifer Foster; great grandchildren, Aedan Delrie, Addie Bosch, Maddie Gorum, Annaleigh Broadus, Jamison Milczarski, Draven Delrie, Landon LeBlanc, Ashley LeBlanc, Grady Foster, and Logan Lindsey; sisters, Ann LaCaze, Gloria Carter, Janet Carter, Patsy Matthews, and Beatrice Reid; and a brother, John Delrie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
