Owen Monette

Owen "Dutt" Monette, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, with his brother by his side. He was born on September 24, 1936, in Cloutierville, Louisiana to McKinley Monette, Sr. and Julia Metoyer Monette.

Dutt was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley Monette, Sr. and Julia Metoyer Monette, as well as his siblings, Cecile Monette, Gladys Monette, Stanley Monette, Leo Monette, and Willie Monette, and a step-daughter, Shirley Carpenter.

He leaves behind his brother, McKinley Monette, Jr. and his sister, Mary Silva. Dutt was also the cherished stepfather to Donald Carpenter, Carolyn Bryant, Catherine Harris, and Ruby Miller. His legacy will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville on December 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA

Dutt Monette will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
