A service to honor the life of Mrs. Pansy Morgan will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Dr. Stewart Holloway officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 am until service time on March the 12th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Pansy began her teaching career at Pickering High School in Vernon Parish, moved to Livingston Parish and taught at Denim Springs Junior High School for several years, then returned to Natchitoches Parish to teach at the Northwestern State University Laboratory School until her retirement in 2000. She was a branch assistant at Edward Jones Investments for 14 years. Pansy was the President of the Louisiana Baptist Singing Women from 2013 to 2022. She was an active member of Pilot Club International and had previously served as a President, Governor, and Secretary. She was the area coordinator of Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. In May 2019, she traveled to Namibia, Africa to distribute shoeboxes to children in need. Pansy loved being able to sing, serve the church and community, as well as spend time with her family and friends. “…What a joy it is to sing of the Gift of Jesus” She is survived by her husband Larry Morgan; mother, Miriam Guice; siblings, Penny Irwin and William G. Guice; stepson, John Morgan and his wife Tracy; grandchildren, Luke Morgan and Libby Morgan; and nieces, Kathryn McDougle and husband Nathan and Sarah Rogers and husband Terry. She was preceded in death by her father, William Guice. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include John Morgan, Luke Morgan, Terry Rogers Jr., Nathan McDougle, Donald Johnston, and Donald Campbell.
