Patricia Lynn Duraso

October 12, 1962 — January 20, 2019

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Patricia Lynn Duraso will be at 10 am Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Rev. Marc Noel serving as celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery on Old River.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 pm on Monday the 21st in the funeral home chapel.                                                                     Patricia was, above all else, a wife, friend, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her top priority and she always made sure they knew they were loved and taken care of. She was the mother of two children, which she cherished with all her heart. She loved spending time with her family and was happiest when she was with her grandson, Alex. She worked in the grocery business most of her life and enjoyed talking and hearing about the life of the many people who she came in contact with. She was a caring person with a big heart. If she asked about your day, it was because she genuinely loved people and cared about all of her acquaintances deep in her heart. She was the type of person who could brighten your day even when she couldn’t brighten her own. She was a devout Catholic and attended Holy Cross Church where she made many friendships that meant the world to her.                                                                              She is preceded in death by her parents Virginia Dale Dixon of Liberty, MS and Ernest Ray Melancon of Cypress, LA, and her mother-in-law Ruby Gongre Duraso.                                                                                               She is survived by her husband, Kevin Duraso; son, Jerry Duraso; daughter Aimee Guillory and husband Scott Guillory, and their children Brianna and Alex Guillory; sisters Janice Ebert, Tarra Barnes, Jeannie Delaune, and Carol Pellegrin; and one brother, Mike Melancon; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and one great-great-nephew. She may be gone from this life, but she is singing with angels.                                                                                                      Pallbearers will be Nathan Adkins, Justin Ebert, Jeremy Miller, Steven Barnes, and Brantley Johns.
