Patsy Lou Johnson passed away on March 9, 2025, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Born on January 23, 1945, in Durant, Oklahoma, Patsy lived a life dedicated to teaching, faith, and community service.

With a degree in family and consumer sciences from Oklahoma State University and further education including a Master’s degree and plus 30 in early childhood education from Northwestern State University, Patsy devoted her professional career to shaping young minds. She taught Home Economics for two years at Calera High School in Calera, Oklahoma, followed by an impactful 28 years at Natchitoches Central High School.

Patsy's personal life was marked by her deep faith and strong family ties. She was married to her husband, Charles Johnson, for over 55 years, a partnership built on love and mutual respect. Patsy was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Provencal, where she not only participated in the congregation but also served as a dedicated Sunday School teacher.

In retirement, Patsy became a prominent volunteer of the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Pink Ladies for over ten years and served as president. Additionally, she was a member of the Cane River Stitchers and the Kisatchie Quilt Guild, contributing her talents to support and engage with fellow quilters. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and traveling, looking at the of fall foliage around the US and watching Oklahoma State University sports.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Charles Johnson, and their daughter, Cammie Johnson Kringel, along with her husband Tim, who continue to honor her legacy.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey R. Snodgrass and Ruth Snodgrass; her siblings: Lynell Snodgrass, Mary Neibarger, Joan Lane, Ann Dillehay, Linda Hamilton, and George W. Snodgrass.

Visitation services will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches on March 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home with Bro. Bruce Mitchell and Bro. Bill Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery.

Those serving as pallbearers are Boyd Hamilton, Jimmy Johnson, Johnny Lavasseur, Clint Miller, Crit Miller, and Dwayne Poe. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Cobb, Sr., Junior Dupree, Carroll Presley, and Steve Stokes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
