She was born on July 20, 1938 to James and Alice Morvan Davis in Robeline, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Rickey Lynn Cox and Wendell Cox; and two sisters, Irma Harper and Efie Patrick. Peggy was raised in rural Natchitoches Parish and helped with her father’s farm while growing up. Coming from such a humble life always gave her an appreciation for the simple things in life. Her working career began with Beall’s Department Store and later she retired from Dillard’s Department Store as a department head after 25 years of service. A hard worker, she would often share the fruits of her labor with those less fortunate. She was an avid New England Patriot fan and especially a Tom Brady fan. She loved being involved in her grandchildren’s lives and never missed their sporting events. Peggy was a talented decorator and especially with an arrangement of flowers. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Dennis LaCaze; her children, Tommy Cox and wife Darla, Susan Hall and husband Tony, and Carolyn Hynes and husband Randy; a sister, Mary Davis Page and husband Dewey; a brother, Joe Davis and wife Pat; and a daughter in law, Gail Cox. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Joshua Cox, Cassie Dalrymple, Torrey Raines and Danielle Hynes; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Heritage Manor-Stratmore for the care of Peggy during a difficult time and also to Shreveport Fire Department for responding and tirelessly working on Tuesday evening to keep Peggy with us a little bit longer.
