Robbie (Robbins) Herrington, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas. There will be two services to honor Mrs. Herrington, one in Grapevine, Texas, on October 5th at J.E. Foust and Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St. Grapevine, Texas, Visitation at 1:00pm, Service at 2p.m. A second service and burial will be held October 7, 2021 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at Coldwater Baptist Church, 6558 Hwy 6 Natchitoches, visitation at 1:00p.m. and service at 2:00p.m. with burial to follow in Coldwater Baptist Church Cemetery. Robbie Sheryl (Robbins) Herrington was born June 5, 1939 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, to the late Benjamin Wells "Sam" Robbins and Earsel (Boswell) Robbins. Robbie was a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, majoring in Business Administration. She worked at the State Capitol in Baton Rogue, and a law firm in Natchitoches before marrying Horace S. Herrington in March 4, 1962. They were married at the Coldwater Baptist Church, and spent the next 54 years together. Horace went to be with the Lord in 2016. Robbie and Horace were blessed with two daughters, Janet Katherine (Herrington) Varnum, and Karen Elizabeth (Herrington) Santiago. Robbie started her married life as the wife of a military officer at Moody Air Force Base near Valdosta Georgia, where Horace began military pilot training. They were soon transferred to Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, Washington, where Horace served active duty in Vietnam war. After military service, Horace and Robbie settled in Grapevine, Texas and Horace began his career as commercial airline pilot, and Robbie as a homemaker and mother. They joined the First Baptist Church of Grapevine, where Robbie has been a member for 53 years. Robbie was active in her church and community, she taught Sunday school, GA's and Girl Scouts. She was active in various school and church organizations, as well as being a volunteer for the Grapevine Hospital. She participated in mission trips and ministered at the women's jail in Dallas. She played the piano for her church, and was a gifted artist who painted many beautiful paintings. Robbie was creative and enjoyed many artistic hobbies. She was also a credible genealogist with many hours of research and documentation. Robbie dedicated her life to her family, friends and serving the Lord. Robbie is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include, two daughters, Janet Varnum and husband Michael of Salida Colorado, and Karen Santiago and husband Roman of Kaufman, Texas. Six grandchildren, Nani Harrison, Trey Santiago, Matthew Varnum, Reid Santiago, Jewel Santiago and Ranse Santiago. Three great-grandchildren, Laney, Lacey, and Layla Harrison. One brother, Sam Robbins of Aurora, Missouri. Two sisters, Sandra Herrington of Florien, Louisiana, and Betty Briggs of Wills Point, Texas.
