He worked in the oil industry for some years, before he attended Nicholls State University and then the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He moved to Natchitoches to begin his career as a college instructor, shortly after his daughter was born. He raised his child here. He partially retired recently but remained in Natchitoches, teaching less and researching more. In addition to teaching, he was passionate about history and researching historical events. He also loved reading. He loved life. He was a loving and devoted father. Services will be scheduled and announced at a later time, the service will be held in Winnsboro, LA.
