A going home and celebration of life service for Pastor Rodney D. Vinzant, Sr. will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 24, 2022 at The Pentecostals of Cloutierville with Bro. Mark Woodham and Bro. Gene Sanders officiating with tributes by Mark Phillips and Chad Daniels. Burial will follow at Bay Springs Cemetery in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 10 pm on Thursday, June 23rd at The Pentecostals of Cloutierville located at 14940 Highway 1, Cloutierville, LA 71416. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Rodney Vinzant, Jr., Mark Phillips, Chad Daniels, Christian Daniels, Lester Guin, and Allen Phillips. Bro. Rodney, 63 years of age and a resident of Flatwoods, passed away on June 22, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on June 25, 1958 to Bobby and Viola White Vinzant in Natchitoches, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Peggy Vinzant LaGrange and Carolyn Vinzant Goodrow; and a niece, Pamela Heimbach Carnahan. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 45 years, Ramona Basco Vinzant; a son, Rodney Vinzant, Jr.; and a daughter, Ashley Vinzant Phillips and her husband Mark; a grandson, Douglas Phillips; a brother, Julius Vinzant and wife Kim; a great uncle, Leon White; a great aunt, Leola Vinzant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rodney worked over 32 years in the timber industry, mostly driving a log truck. He entered into the ministry in 1990 and has served as Bi-Vocational Pastor at Campti United Pentecostal Church from 1996 until 2001, Saline Pentecostal Church from 2009-2012 and finally as the Pastor of The Pentecostals of Cloutierville from 2012 until present. He was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. We know that because of his faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we can take comfort in knowing we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day.
