A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Rosa M. Bayonne will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Officiating the services will be Father John O’Brien. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on the morning of the service at the church. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Rosa Mae Coutee-Bayonne was born to Edna Monette and John Coutee on February 17, 1931 in Cloutierville, Louisiana. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville. In 1949, she married Ednest Bayonne of Cloutierville and to this union five children were born Peggy, John, Ronald, Brenda and Leslie left to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind a daughter in law, Jeanie, her 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren: as well as a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved. Rosa was a homemaker and a certified nurse aide. Her love of fragrance and make-up lead her to become an Avon saleswoman for many years. Rosa enjoyed reading and doing word puzzles. She had the opportunity to travel outside of Louisiana and collected her magnets to prove it. She also, enjoyed playing the slots at casinos. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be missed by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ednest and her parents Edna and John Coutee, 3 siblings Wilmon “Jimmy” Coutee, Wilson Joseph “Badeaux” Coutee Sr., Agnes Carpenter and one daughter-in-law Barbara Bayonne. Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters: Annie M. Coutee, Mary A. Culbert and sisters-in-law: Betty Coutee and Alma Rachal.
