A Mass of Christian burial for Rusty Alan Moss will be 2 pm Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Brian Seiler serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, LA. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel during the visitation. Rusty was born March 28, 1984, and passed from this life on March 5, 2018 at 33 years of age. Always remaining true to whom he was Rusty was a one of a kind lover of the simple life. He was a lifelong native of Provencal, LA and a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. He made his mark on the community for certain. In his younger days, that mark was usually two black stripes left on the highway from wheels spun too fast in a vehicle that was too loud; but in his later years, the mark he left was on all of the hearts of those he reached out to with his helping hand. Rusty was a selfless, giving person. He loved to spend his days at home working in his shop, playing with his girls, and helping his grandfather on the farm. He worked in the oil field for many years, dedicating his time to providing a good life for his family. His sense of humor marked many a conversation with unforgettable phrases and sayings; his unique way of putting words will be quoted for years to come. He coined many phrases, like “Let’s go spend some windshield time” and short answers like “Yee”, instead of “Yes”. He loved music and didn’t do anything without a song behind it. His willingness and readiness to help wherever he was needed will be greatly missed, but the love he had for his wife and daughters can never be replaced. He was as dedicated a father that ever was, and as loving a husband that any wife could ever ask for. A better friend couldn’t be found than Rusty Moss, and to say “he will be missed” just couldn’t quite do him justice. He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Esparza Moss; his daughters, Macie Paige Moss and Landrie Katherine Moss; his parents, Tracy and Robbie Fredieu Moss; his paternal grandparents, E.L. & Glenda Moss; and numerous cousins, family members, and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Bill & Shirley Fredieu. Those honored to be pallbearers will be Eric Upchurch, Jason Slaughter, Jake Roberts, Jace Matthews, Bob Ganz, Cody Fredieu, Chad Fredieu, Matthew Pagels and Stuart Fredieu. Honorary pallbearers will be Tanner Walker, Joey Waters, and Waylon Rials. “Let’s go bust a loop…”
