A service to honor the life of Mr. Scriven William Gourdon will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Creston Baptist Church with Bro. Truman Leach officiating. Interment will follow at Goldonna Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Creston Baptist Church.Scrib Gourdon, 90 years of age, and a resident of Goldonna passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on August 26, 1929, to Alfred William and Rosie Louisa (Whatley) Gourdon in Natchitoches Parish. He was a faithful and longtime member of Creston Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout the years he worked in law enforcement, and with the state, as well as owning and operating his cattle feeder trough business. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva Marie Gourdon; a son, Richard Brown; grandsons, Christopher Monroe and Erve Monroe, Jr.; siblings, Paul Gourdon, Andrew Gourdon, Bernadine Brown, and Ellison Gourdon, as well as his oldest brother and infant sister; and nephew, Billy Joe Gourdon. He is survived by his sons, Anthony Brown and Jesse Gourdon both of Goldonna; daughters, Elizabeth Monroe of Milton, WA and Jackie Stewart of Goldonna. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Cody Gourdon, Beau Gourdon, Timothy Gourdon, Greg Monroe, Keith Stewart, and Bruce Stewart. Honorary Pallbearer will be Collin Wall and Dustin Stewart.
