Sherry Ann (Hicks) Rhodes, a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on June 23 2024. She was born on October 5, 1944, to Berkley Hicks and Dorothy Powell Hicks.

Sherry dedicated over 40 years of her life as a school bus driver for the Natchitoches Parish School Board, touching the lives of countless children with her kindness and care. Her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of students was truly commendable. She also held deeply the bond she made with her fellow school bus drivers; they were truly a family among themselves.

Beyond her professional life, Sherry was known for her love of Hallmark movies, particularly during the Christmas season. In her leisure time, Sherry found solace and creativity in cross-stitching, crafting beautiful pieces that showcased her talent and attention to detail.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband Frank Rhodes, joining him once again in eternal peace. She is also reunited with her parents in heaven.

Sherry will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends, including her son Todd Cooper, daughter Toye Duke and husband Trey, daughter Maury Cook and husband Todd. She leaves behind grandchildren Kasey Staples, Ashley Longlois, Riley Cook, Kamri Cook, Gabrielle Cooper, Allison Cooper, Isabella Cooper; great-grandchildren Jaxon Christie, Kayden Jones, Audrey Staples; as well as her sister Ellen Mathis and husband Tommy. In addition to her human family members, Sherry also leaves behind her cherished fur babies Piper and Lily whose companionship brought comfort and joy into her life.

Her legacy of love and kindness will live on through all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sherry's memory will forever be cherished by those who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

In honoring her wishes to be cremated, a memorial service to honor and celebrate Sherry's life will be held at 2 pm on June 28, 2024, and the family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home located at 848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches LA 71457. Services will conclude with burial at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.

May she rest in peace knowing she made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
