Shirley Martin Ellzey

Funeral services for Shirley Martin Ellzey will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La. with Bro. Bruce Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Coldwater Baptist Cemetery in Hagewood, La. A visitation will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Shirley was a native of Natchitoches Parish born on June 2, 1923, and died on May 12, 2019. She was a retired educator for Natchitoches Parish School Board, an avid traveler and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ceyril Marcus Ellzey and Ralph Wayne Ellzey, a son, Jonny Lane Ellzey, one grandson, Patrick Wade O’Brien, parents, William Otho Martin, and Sadie Osborn Martin, and one brother, Wayne Martin. She is survived by three daughters, Jean O’Brien (Benny) of Natchitoches, La, Marno Breaux of Houston, Tx and Marsha Roy (Ronald) of Natchitoches, La; two granddaughters, Brynn Litton of Houston, Tx and Jennifer Seard of Georgetown, Tx; six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Austin Martin of San Antonio, Tx; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Jones, J D Wyble, Richard Guidroz, Dewayne Garlington, Owen Lee Callicoatte, and Mark Martin.
