Terrell Carl Scott, Sr.

Funeral services to remember the life of Terrell Carl Scott, Sr. will be held at 10 am Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Mike McGrath and Bro. Tommy Rush officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.  Terrell, 73 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 9, 2019, in Natchitoches, LA.  Terrell was born on July 8, 1945, to Julius Howard Scott, Sr. and Lillian Prothro Scott in Natchitoches. He graduated from Ashland high school in 1963 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army, completing one tour in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he began his 30-year career in the oilfield which allowed him to travel the world with his family. Terrell was a member of Phoenix #38 lodge. He had a passion for wood carving, as well as playing music, dominos, and card games with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, having enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Lillian Scott of Natchitoches, brother, Adrian Scott, Sr., and son, Terrell Carl Scott, Jr. of Natchitoches. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joy Geter Scott of Natchitoches; three daughters, Jessica Franklin of Bryan, TX., Scheryl Kelsey and husband Robert of Clarence, and Michelle Riddle and husband Chris of Goldonna; and his beloved bird, Tony. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Krystal Schnettler and husband Nick, Ashley Thompson and husband Charles, Emily Franklin, Carlee Scott, Whitt Scott, Dalton, Loden and Posey Riddle; great-grandchildren, Tristian, Kelsey and Riley Thompson, and Olivia Schnettler, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Eva Denham, Darren Cobb, Jacob Walker, Dalton Riddle, Whitt Scott, and James Franklin. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Thompson, Raymond Gourdon, Tristian Thompson.
