W L Vercher

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. W L Vercher will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with Rev. Christian Ogbonna serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Cloutierville Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. W L is survived by his wife of 66 years, Johnnie Vercher; daughter, Rhonda Sanders and husband Ricky Sanders; grandchildren, Michael Sanders and wife Lacey Honeycutt Sanders, William Sanders, Samantha Fleitas and husband Joel, and Elizabeth Sanders; great grandchildren, B.J. Sanders, Nick Sanders, Michael Hunter Sanders, Dakota Sanders, Madison Sanders, Piper Sanders, Rayleigh Warren, Hayden Harris, Ricky Dennis Sanders, Haven Sanders, Jaylen Fleitas, and Rylen Nugent; and a great granddaughter, Zoey Sanders. WL was very proud to be a founding member of the Cloutierville Fire Department which is presently Natchitoches Parish Fire District 1 and was also a member of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Posse. He always enjoyed participating in the Cloutierville Mardi Gras Parade. During his spare time, he enjoyed completing crossword puzzle books and picking pecans. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, who will greatly miss their husband, dad and Papa. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Ricky Coe, Raymond Weaver, Michael H. Sanders, Jimmy Phillips, William Sanders, Hayden Harris, and Nick Sanders. Members of Fire District 1 will be honorary pallbearers.
