Wanda Rose (Derbonne) Kerry, 85, of Boyce, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and family at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital on May 16, 2018. Rose, better known by her grandchildren as “Mamaw Kerry,” was born the youngest daughter to the late Adam and Rose Derbonne of Natchitoches Parish on August 8, 1933. She will be remembered as a loving wife and selfless mother. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Wilmer Kerry, her father Adam Derbonne, her mother Rosa Lee Bennett Derbonne and one brother, Joseph Lee Derbonne. Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her children from oldest to youngest, son, Bruce Pierre Kerry of Abita Springs; daughter, Sherry LaNell Kerry of Alexandria; son, Robert Mark Kerry of Monroe and his wife, Sheree Kerry; daughter, Rose Maria Slaughter of Pollock and her husband, Darrell Slaughter; grandchildren listed from oldest to youngest, Rose Michelle Kerry of Bentley; Daniel Lee Walters of Alexandria; Katherine Ann (Coutee) Hulin of Broussard; Kerry Marie (Walters) Seay of Alexandria; Dalton Shane Slaughter of Pollock, Brock Christopher Kerry of Baton Rouge; Sheena Marie (Kerry) Meisner of Jacksonville, NC; Mark Ian Kerry of Monroe; Valena Elizabeth (Kerry) Delyea of Bay Saint Louis, MS; Gina Lynn Kerry of New Orleans; siblings are, Anna Mae Dunn of Alexandria and Milton Derbonne of Pineville. Additionally, Wanda Rose is also survived by “my other son”, Ricky Guidry, 13 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Ricky Guidry, Daniel Lee Walters, Mark Ian Kerry, Cody Seay, Dalton Shane Slaughter, and Darrell Slaughter. The family would like to thank the Christus Cabrini ICU staff. Funeral arrangements celebrating her life will be Friday May 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm. at Blanchard St.Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches LA. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 1 pm at Blanchard- St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches
