Funeral services for Willis Ward will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at First United Methodist Church ~ West Monroe. Brother Lamar Oliver will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Willis was born on November 25, 1925 in Natchitoches and passed away on July 6, 2019 in Monroe at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Home. He retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Willis was a member of First United Methodist Church ~ West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia C. Ward; sons, Willis Forrest Ward, Jr., Robbie Ward; daughter, Dinah LaCaze; son-in-law, Larry Stapleton; grandson, Leham Ward. Willis is survived by three daughters, Carol Maxey, Mary Wallin and husband Gary, Lee Ann Stapleton; eight grandchildren, Brad Hunt, Patricia Maxey, Matthew Pirkey, John Pirkey, Randy Ward, Jeff Stapleton, Misty Hardy, Judith Jurica; six great-grandchildren; many other cherished family and friends.
