Funeral service for Johnny Ray Berry will be held 2 PM Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Roger Matkin officiating. Burial will be in Marthaville Cemetery at Marthaville, La. Visitation will be Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Berry, 80, of Natchitoches, La., died Saturday, August 7, 2010, in his residence at Natchitoches, La. He was a native of Marthaville, La., He was a retired roughneck on onshore and offshore drilling rigs. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Air Force. P receded in death by his wife, Pauline Laroux Berry; grandson, Ryan Marcus Berry, sister, Julee Cline; five brothers, Joel Berry, James Berry, Jesse Berry, Jewel David Berry, and Jasper Berry; parents, Willie Elmer Berry and Lillie Pearl Reeves Berry He is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Mitts and husband William of Bossier City, La. and Judy Berry of Haughton, La.; four sons, Elmer Ray Berry of Natchitoches, La., Jerry Berry and wife Reba of Sikes, La., Kevin Berry and wife Freida of Natchitoches, La., and John D. Berry, Sr. and wife Lisa of Shreveport, La.; eight grandchildren, Chris Cobbs, Meghan Berry, Eddie Mitts, Jonathan Mitts, Zachary Berry, Allison Berry, John Berry, Jr., and Tyler Berry; two great grandchildren, Olivia Grace Berry and Zander Mitts; five brothers, Jerrold Berry of California, Joyce Berry of Shreveport, La., Jack Berry of Bossier City, La., Joe Berry of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Jerry Berry of Winnfield, La. Pallbearers will be Kevin Berry, John Berry, Sr., John Berry, Jr., Tyler Berry, Zachary Berry, and Chris Cobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Singletary.
