The humanist service is a service that does not have any religious elements to it. It can be exactly the right choice for someone who was not part of any religion or who would not have wanted religion involved in their service. Having a humanist service does not mean that you cannot give your loved one a beautiful one, so do consider the different readings you want to have or music you want to include. Just be sure that anything you choose is secular.
Humanist service can take place in lots of locations. Avoid places of worship, however, but you can definitely have it at a funeral home if that is what you prefer. You want to consider where your loved one would have wanted their service. if they prefer to have it at a hotel, outdoors, or even at home, consider this option. It can allow you to honor their memory and their wishes as they would have wanted.
The tribute is essential part of the humanist service. It is similar to a eulogy, offering anecdotes and memories of person so that the guests get to know them a bit better. the celebrant gives the tribute, so be sure to meet up with them and let them know what you would like included in it. This can make a big difference in the kind of tribute that you offer your loved one.
The celebrant is the person who leads the humanist service. It is important to choose someone who has lots of experience and who has the right training to be able to perform this service. it's not always easy to choose to celebrate, so you do want to take some time to do this before making a decision. If you do not know where to start or if you do not have contacts in the area, you could reach out to a funeral director for some guidance.
